Players crowd around a coach signing a ball

The Individual Development Plan

  • In person or on film
  • Written report + review meeting
  • Written by the coach who watched

Custom plans. Clear goals. Real progress.

We watch the player, in training or on film. We write it down against the position profile. We sit down with the player and the parents and agree the next twelve weeks. That is the whole product, and it is the thing nobody else in the Triad sells.

Four steps, in order

Clarity. Ownership. Resilient. Elevate.

The method is the acronym. Every plan runs through it in this order.

  1. Clarity

Assessment first: observation in training or on film, a position profile, a baseline.

  2. Ownership

The written plan: goals the player can say out loud, and the weekly work behind them.

  3. Resilient

The reps: weekly academies, sessions and block programs that serve the plan.

  4. Elevate

The report, the review with player and parents, and the next step on the pathway.

What you get

A report you can hold.

Not a score for its own sake. Each line names what we saw and the one thing that changes it. The numbers are a sample; the notes are the point.

The four corners, scoredTechnical, tactical, physical and psychological, each with what we saw and where it sits against the position profile.
Three goals the player can say out loudSpecific, twelve weeks long, chosen with the player, not for them.
The weekly workWhich sessions, which academy nights, which block serves the goals, and what to do alone.
The review dateA meeting with player and parents, in person, to read the report together and set the next one.

Technical72First touch under pressure and left-foot passing: the two items the plan starts with.
Tactical58Scanning before receiving. Drops into pockets late; fixed with two cues and a weekly rep.
Physical81Explosive over five yards. Endurance holds through 70 minutes.
Psychological64Drops the head after a mistake. A reset routine goes into the plan.

Illustrative. Every real report is written from what the coach watched.

The standard

Written against a position profile.

Seven roles, each described in and out of possession and in transition, with the technical, tactical, physical and psychological attributes the role demands. Read the one your player plays.

Plan questions

How does the observation work?
In person at a training session or a game, or on film you send us. Tell us which on the form; either works.
Who writes it?
The coach who watched. Josh Coupar leads the plans and writes the report for every player he observes.
What does it cost?
The price depends on whether we watch in person or on film and whether you add a monthly review. It is confirmed in the reply to your form, before anything is paid.
Is it only for elite players?
No. The plan is for any player who wants personalised attention and a customised approach, from a first-year player to one being watched by colleges.
